About the auther...
Harvey Scribner (1850-1913) was a lawyer and an avocational writer.  In 1869 he moved from Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Toledo, Ohio, with his parents, Charles H. and Mary Scribner.  He studied law with his father and was admitted to the bar in 1871, and in 1880 he married Jennifer Blueland in Scotland.  Harvey Scribner practiced law in Toledo until his death in 1913, and over the years wrote and published fiction as well as a two-volume history of Lucas County, Ohio.
